We obsess over every bean so you don't have to. Pull up a chair, slow down the morning, and taste the difference a little patience makes.
"Coffee should make you feel like the world slowed down — just for a moment."
Noir Café started in a narrow Parisian-inspired corner of the city in 2018. Our founders, twin sisters Maya and Sofia, left careers in fine dining to chase a singular obsession: the perfect espresso. What began as a 12-seat shop became a neighbourhood institution overnight.
Every bean we roast is sourced directly from farmers we've visited in person — Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Sumatra. We cup every batch. We adjust every pull. We care, deeply, about what ends up in your cup.
Warm amber lights, handcrafted timber tables, soft jazz, and the smell of fresh espresso. We designed every corner of Noir to make you never want to leave.
We don't advertise. We rely entirely on people who love us enough to tell their friends.
I've tried coffee on four continents. The flat white at Noir is in my top three of all time. The beans, the pull, the temperature — everything is dialled in perfectly. I moved across town and I still make the trip every Saturday.
The almond croissant alone is worth moving to this neighbourhood for. Pair it with the cold brew and you have the ideal morning. I work remotely and Noir is basically my second office — the WiFi is fast and no one rushes you.
As a coffee writer I visit dozens of cafés per year. Noir is one of maybe five in the country that I'd call genuinely exceptional. Their sourcing story is real — you can taste the terroir in every cup. Remarkable.
